Christmas shop window

Creating a Pink Winter Wonderland at Piggy’s Posh Art

If you’ve ever visited Basel, you might know the Spalenvorstadt: a part of the city that feels almost frozen in time. With its historic buildings, small independent shops, and cozy bakeries, it becomes especially magical during the Christmas season.

In this charming street, you’ll also find Piggy’s Posh Art: a quirky, unapologetically pink shop. One of my favorite projects in 2025 was designing a pink Christmas shop window for this space.

Time was tight, which, in hindsight, turned out to be a gift. There was little room to overthink, and the core idea came together quickly. We decided on a sweet, slightly chaotic Christmas present–wrapping scene that also featured some of the shop’s own products.

This was my first project where the illustration had to work around products that weren’t my own. The challenge was to create an eye-catching artwork that would draw people in, without overshadowing the items on display. A balance that required a different way of thinking than my usual personal work.

Knowing that my artwork (and a selection of my own products) would be on display throughout the entire Christmas season was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. But during the setup, people already started stopping in front of the window, smiling, and even taking photos. That reaction was one of the best compliments I could have received.

What makes this project especially meaningful to me is that some of my products became a permanent part of the shop’s assortment, staying on the shelves even after the Christmas season ended.
