Client: Coop Group (Switzerland)
Purpose: Internal project for leadership principles
This project was a major milestone for me. Not only because it was my largest undertaking to date, but also because of the sheer complexity behind it. The amount of content that had to be created was extensive, and working within the strong structures of a large corporation, including its many sub-brands, was both challenging and incredibly educational.
I collaborated with Coop, one of Switzerland’s largest retail and production companies, to create an extensive Wimmelpicture titled Coop Universe. The illustration was developed as a visual exploration of Coop’s leadership principles and designed for employees in leadership roles across the company.
One of the biggest challenges was designing a coherent visual “universe” that made sense as a whole: bringing together the necessary characters, locations, brands, and interactions into a single composition without losing clarity or balance. To achieve this, I expanded my Adobe Illustrator skill set, learning to work more efficiently with isometric shortcuts and workflows in order to handle the scale and complexity of the illustration.
Coop Universe was printed 10,000 times and used in over 200 workshops, making it a central visual tool for leadership development within Coop.
Whether it’s a humorous interaction between characters or a subtle reference to one of Coop’s brands, the illustration tells a cohesive story that resonates with both the company’s culture and its leadership values.
